Chennai: TVS Motor Company continued its strong performance in May 2025, recording a 17% year-on-year growth in total sales, with volumes rising to 431,275 units, compared to 369,914 units in May 2024.
The two-wheeler segment led the charge, with a 16% growth, delivering 416,166 units, up from 359,590 units last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales climbed by 14% to 309,287 units, underscoring steady consumer demand.
Among individual categories:
- Motorcycle sales jumped 22% year-on-year to 211,505 units.
- Scooter sales registered 15% growth, reaching 166,749 units.
EV Segment Registers 50% Surge
Electric vehicles (EVs) remained a high-growth category for TVS Motor Company, with EV sales soaring 50% from 18,674 units in May 2024 to 27,976 units in May 2025.
While EV momentum remains strong, the company flagged supply chain constraints—particularly regarding magnet availability—as a potential short-term challenge.
Strong Export Momentum
- TVS Motor’s total exports witnessed a 22% increase, growing from 96,966 units in May 2024 to 118,437 units in May 2025.
- Two-wheeler exports alone contributed 106,879 units, marking a 21% year-on-year rise.
Three-Wheeler Sales Accelerate
In the three-wheeler segment, TVS Motor registered 46% growth, with 15,109 units sold versus 10,324 units in the same month last year.
Additionally, the company reported 1,829 units of electric three-wheelers sold in May 2025, adding to its EV portfolio’s growing strength.
